Date Your Spouse With A "Date Night In"

9:50 PM

It is even more important to date now that you are married than when your were single. Every friendship takes time, effort and creating new memories together to keep it going. Your relationship with your spouse is no different. Why do we often overlook the most important relationship in our lives? I think its because you see that person everyday and it becomes easy for you forget that you still need to make it a priority to create weekly date nights even if you see your spouse every day. Its just not the same thing.

My husband and I have been married for fifteen years, we have four kids a beagle lab and a tabby cat... oh and five gold fish. With jobs, kids and other obligations its not always been easy to have regular date nights but we deffinately try to get one in at least once or twice a month. When we don't have date night and/or its just been too long since we had one it make a noticeable impact on the whole family. Even our older boys will be like, "Dad, why don't you go out tonight? I will totally watch the younger kids." When mom and dad's have a strong relationship the family is glued better together.

Thats why I reached out to Night In Boxes myself. I wanted to be apart of this amazing service they are providing for couples everywhere. I believe so strongly in encouraging all married couples to date each other and make it a priority. Night In Boxes makes date nights (especially for parents) so much easier by delivering a complete date night at your door. They really have thought of everything.

Night In Boxes are a monthly subscription service where you get a perfectly planned themed date. They have done all the work for you. You can jump right into the date once you open the box or take it a step further with some extra planning, like inviting you spouse on the date with their easy to use evite, utilizing their recommended dinner menu and grocery list, and setting the mood with some ambiance.

For January's box the theme was "Delivered With Love". Everything had a French theme to it. It was like a little peek into having a night in Paris but we didn't have to leave the comfort of our living room or get a baby sitter. These date night boxes brings stay-at-home dates up a whole other level!

For one of the activities we went on a Parisian journey with an escape room type mystery to solve with clues and a fun romantic story line. We got to pick our characters, dress up and make up a story about how we met in good old Paris during the war in 1919. Then it was on to solve the clues to find out when and where we were to be reunited after being apart for three years.

I chose to be Mary, a smart war nurse who left behind her comfortable aristocratic life to help wounded soldiers during the war. My husband chose to be Patrick the new's reporter who became a reporter on the front lines of the war. We were separated by our duty to our country and fellow country men, but our love remained through the years of unspeakable hardship and tragedy that we witnessed day after day. Sometimes the memory of our love for each other was the only thing that kept us going.

Our good friend and comrade helped us be reunited through a series of clues and riddles. Once we were finally reunited we decided we would never be apart again. Growing old with someone never sounded so sweet.

We loved all the thoughtful details of our box including a lavender pouch to smell, pens, notepads for writing love notes, solving clues and taking the Love Language test. Oh and did I mention the french crepes with chocolate inside?! They were so good and perfect for this themed date.

This was such a fun date even if it was in the middle of the day while the kids were down stairs watching a Finding Dory. At the end we were laughing and connecting and thats what its all about. We cannot wait to see what they have come up with Februarys box! These boxes are sooooo good you guys! And they would also make the perfect gift for anybody to.

What's your favorite at home date?
