Getting From A To B: Family Traveling, On The Cheap!

1:07 AM

As most people enter adulthood, they have a strong drive and need to travel. Grand ideas are formed, but, they’re never quite realized. This is a great shame, as many of these dreams will never come true, especially when kids enter the picture. Money is tighter than ever, and there simply isn’t the time. But, what is there was a way to travel on the cheap, without eating time flying? Well, there’s actually a few options. To give you an idea of the ease of cheap traveling, this post will take you through some of the methods you can use.

  • Trains

Although one of the oldest forms of transportation still widely used today, trains are incredibly fast. You can get from one side of a country to another in mere hours, without ever having to leave the ground. Most train travel doesn’t require passports or other tricky documentation. You just need to grab a cheap ticket, and you can travel. Of course, trains can be a little bit limiting. They can only take you on premade and preplanned routes. But, in a lot of places, trains are widespread, and you can find connections between most major cities. Train journeys usually involve traveling through the countryside between stops. This is a great chance to relax and see more of the place you're visiting than you ever could on a plane.

  • Charter Buses/Coaches

To escape the limited choice of destinations presented by trains, you can also try a charter bus service. They’ll be able to take you anywhere that there’s a route, and they usually connect with train stations. This makes charter buses a great way to get off the train, and onto transport that will get you even closer to your target destination. As a standalone service, charter buses are much slower than a train. But, they are also much more comfortable. You still get to see the great outdoors on your journey, and you may meet some interesting people on the way. To find affordable coach tickets, check out sites like

  • Hire Cars

If trains and coaches are simply too limiting for you, but you don’t want to hurt your own car on a long journey, hiring a car is a great option. You can choose a car that has good milage but also has enough power and comfort to get you to your destination without stress. Choosing a hire car gives you the benefit of choosing your own route. This means that, although slower than a train, a car could get you there quicker. You don’t have to make unnecessary stops, and you don’t have to deal with railway closures or delays. Out of all of the options, this is the least stressful.

All of these options are appropriate for families. Trains and charter buses are much safer than they were in the past. But, it’s still worth using your own judgment. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide where to take your children.

Hopefully, this will inspire you to get out and do some cheap traveling. All you need to figure out now is the accommodation. Remember to do plenty of research, and make sure that you always choose the best option for you.
