When you get pregnant, everyone will tell you that your life is going to change. But you never really know just how much until you have had your baby. Here are four surprising things which happen when you become a mom.
You have a new respect for your own mom
We spend most of our teens and early 20’s wishing that our mom would let us get on with our life. We don’t understand why they are always worrying about where we are and when we will get home! But believe us, it all changes once you have your own baby. You get a newfound respect and understanding for your mom. You start to understand just how hard it would have been for them to bring you up. Also, you understand the worry they felt about you when you were growing up as you are now experiencing it with your little one. In fact, there has been plenty of studies which have found new moms have a closer relationship with their own mom once they have a baby!
Sleeping becomes a luxury
Before we have kids, sleeping is something that isn’t all that important. We would rather be out with friends, or watching films until late, than in be bed fast asleep. But when you become a mom, there is very few things you want more than a good night sleep, sleeping becomes a luxury. You are often up with your baby till the early hours of the morning, so it’s hard to get a full night’s sleep. So when you do manage to get to sleep at night, it feels like a pleasure. You worry about your health
When we are young, we often take our health for granted. We don’t really think that anything will happen to us, so we eat and drink as we please. But once you become a mom, you do start to stress about your health. You want to be around for your little one as long as possible and set good and healthy examples for them. You will experience true love
Of course, it’s possible that you have experienced love before you have your little one. But nothing quite compares to the true love you will feel for your baby.
