Tiered Cupcake Stand- DIY project (featured guest blogger)

5:00 AM

Hello everyone, I'm Tara from The Small Town Mom and I am so happy to have the opportunity to be a guest here at Everyday Mom Ideas! I picked up DIY projects and blogging shortly after I became a stay at home mom when my daughter was born to take a break and give myself some me time. I quickly found more projects than I had time for, but I still enjoy searching for inspiration and sharing with others what I find! Here is a tiered cupcake stand that I put together for my daughters winter ONEderland birthday party.

You will need:
3 different size boxes
cordinating ribbon
white craft paper
construction or scrapbook paper
hot glue gun

Step 1: Cover your boxes in the white craft paper. I chose to first use brown packaging paper so you couldn't seen the writing on the boxes through the paper. Keep in mind the ribbon will cover up most of the folding so don't worry about it looking perfect.

Step 2: Wrap the ribbon around the boxes. Lay the ribbon out and play around with different looks to see what you like the best before gluing it in place. Once you have found the layout you like, use a hot glue gun to place on craft paper. I hid all my gluing in the back where nobody would see it. If you will be having both sides showing you can place your cut outs over where you did your gluing to hide it :)

Step 3: This is where a store like Archivers comes in handy! They have free die cutting tools you can use in store as long as you purchase their scrapbook paper. I love the clean lines and professional finished look when using the die cutters Choose whatever wording best fits the occasion

Step 4: With a hot glue gun place your decorations on the stand. Just like with the ribbon, get creative and try different layouts you never know what you might come up with.

Step 5: The final step, add cupcakes and enjoy!

Thanks for allowing me to share my latest project with you all, I hope you enjoyed it!
